Farewell to Prof. Huang
Massive congratulations to Yi-Teng Huang who is now moving to National Taiwan University as Assistant Professor!
Yi-Teng was one of the first PhD students to work with me when I became an independent PI through the Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship at the University of Cambridge in 2019. Although I moved shortly afterwards to Imperial Materials, Yi-Teng was well looked after by Akshay Rao in the Cavendish Laboratory - Department of Physics at the University of Cambridge, and we kept on working together, producing some very nice works on ternary chalcogenide photovoltaic materials, including this one in Nature Communications: https://lnkd.in/d7mg-TPH
During the Spring MRS conference in Hawai'i in 2022, I broke the news that I was moving to Oxford Chemistry, and luckily Yi-Teng joined my group as a postdoc after finishing his PhD in Cambridge. He was a massive help in getting the group set up here in Oxford, and many students benefited from his mentorship and support. During his time in Oxford, Yi-Teng's research took on more of a solid state chemistry flavour, working on melt synthesis and inelastic neutron scattering. He also kept up his core passion on spectroscopy, including optical pump terahertz probe spectroscopy, which he taught to other members of the group.
While we're sad to see him go, we're very happy that he's gotten his dream position back at home, and look forward to seeing him grow with his own group!
