Team at outreach event

Robert and students Hugh, Yuchen and Xiaoyu shared outreach activities at the St. John's College Inspire Scholars Programme. This brought in Year 9 students to participate in a range of STEM activities. We shared two activities from the Resource Box we developed with the Royal Academy of Engineering, called 'Engineering Materials for a Greener Planet'. This included designing and building a solar-powered boat, and racing these to see which design is the fastest, as well as building a 3D printer and making a chocolate structure. Through these activities, students learnt about how to source energy renewably and new ways of manufacturing structural materials to reduce waste.
