Two new people, and a farewell

Today was a day of welcomes balanced with farewells.

We welcomed Georgia Fields, a new DPhil student part of the IMAT CDT. She is jointly between our group and the Clarke group, and is working on bismuth-based compounds for X-ray detection. She has just completed the taught component of the CDT and is now starting on her research.

We also welcome Jyoti Saxena, visiting from Prof. Aditya Sadhanala's group at IISc Bangalore. She is visiting as part of the UKIERI project we have with IISc and is working on AgBiS2 for photovoltaics.

Sadly, we bid farewell to Seoyeon Park, a visiting DPhil student from KAIST in South Korea, where she is supervised by Prof. Byungha Shin. However, we look forward to continuing our collaboration as she returns to Korea.
