Bhumi is an MSc by Research student supervised by Prof. Robert Hoye. She is working on thin film synthesis of novel chalcogenide materials for photovoltaics. Her Masters is funded through a scholarship at Worcester College, Oxford, as well as from funds from Nissan Technology Centre Europe, and from the Indian government.
She completed her bachelor's degree in chemistry at the University of Delhi (2023–2026), where she worked with Dr Ekta Kundra on the optoelectronic properties of Schiff bases. She also worked at the Indian Institute of Science on the synthesis and characterisation of rare-earth-metal-doped phosphors for solid-state lighting applications under the supervision of Prof. C. Shivakumara. Additionally, she completed a remote internship at the University of Cambridge with Prof. Jonathan Goodman, where she investigated experimental data in infrared spectroscopy in organic chemistry.
